Which date and time should I choose?

Choose the moment the story is about. Most people choose the evening of the day it happened.

Suggestions by occasion

  • Wedding: the time of the ceremony, or the evening of the celebration.
  • A birth: the time of birth, if you know it.
  • The night you met or a first date: the evening you met.
  • Engagement: the moment of the proposal.
  • Anniversary: the original wedding date — the sky of that night, not of the anniversary.
  • In memory: a date that mattered to them, or the night they were born.

The time affects the map

The sky turns about 15 degrees an hour, so a different hour shows a different part of the sky. If you don't know the exact time, choose an approximate one and the map will be drawn for the time you choose.

Enter local time

Type the time as it was on the clock at that place; we use the place's time zone, including summer time for that date.

Place and words

Any town or village worldwide works — choose the nearest if your exact spot isn't listed. Your title line can be up to 40 characters; the place and date are printed beneath it.
