Policy.

SHOPCIENTY LIMITED ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Last updated: July 2026

The data controller is SHOPCIENTY LIMITED, 7 Bell Yard, London WC2A 2JR (company no. 14960765). Contact: admin@shopcienty.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to sell to you and answer your messages:

  • Identity data: name, billing/delivery address
  • Contact data: email address
  • Transaction data: details of products purchased (payment is taken by our processor — we do not receive your full card number)
  • Technical data: your IP address is processed by our website host and content providers as a technical necessity of delivering the page

2. How We Use Your Data & Our Lawful Bases

  • Fulfilling your order — lawful basis: performance of a contract
  • Replying to enquiries — lawful basis: legitimate interests
  • Accounting & tax records — lawful basis: legal obligation
  • Marketing emails (only if you opt in) — lawful basis: consent, withdrawable at any time

3. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers needed to run the shop:

  • Payment processor (Stripe) — to take payment securely
  • Delivery partners (e.g. Royal Mail) — to deliver your order
  • Website hosting & content delivery (GitHub Pages; Google Fonts for typography) — these receive your IP address when the page loads

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We set no cookies at all unless you accept them. When you first visit, a small bar at the bottom of the page asks you to choose, and nothing is written to your device until you do.

  • If you accept: Google Ads sets a measurement cookie (_gcl_au, up to 90 days) so we can tell whether an advert we paid for led to an order. We use it for that and nothing else — we do not build profiles and we do not sell data.
  • If you decline: the tag stays in a cookieless mode. It can still count an anonymous page view, but nothing is stored on your device and you are not identified.
  • Always on, no consent needed: your design choices are kept in your browser's own local storage on your device (strictly necessary to remember your selection) and are never sent to us until you check out. Our visitor counter (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is cookieless by design and never was.

To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser — the choice bar will appear again on your next visit.

5. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email admin@shopcienty.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary, including to satisfy legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Order data is typically retained for 6 years in accordance with UK tax and accounting regulations.
